My Hero Academia

Did this awhile ago. I've been so focused on my comic series that I haven't had much time to do fan art. In any case, if you haven't seen this series do yourself a favor and check it out. It does an amazing job showcasing how superhero stories should be done.

SS Goku on Namek

My first Dragon Ball Z fan art. Pretty proud how it came out. I really like how the colors compliment each other. Definitely want to do a Vegeta at some point.

Hulking out!

Hulk is one of those characters you always want to draw, which is why its surprising that I had actually never drawn him before. I think I really hit a new high in terms of shading here. I'm very happy with how this image came out, despite its flaws.

Harley Quinn

It's truly incredible how popular this character has become. I go to shows and see her cosplay everywhere. Men and women seem to love her equally for different reasons.

Personally, I love her look and personality. Strangely, I can't imagine her without the voice from the Batman TAS ringing in my head.

Teen Titans

My latest picture showing the characters from the old cartoon series.

Yeah that's right, this isn't Teen Titans Go, this is the OG series that never got the send off it deserved.

Its good to be back.

This is my display from SteelCity Con recently held at the Monroeville Convention center. I had a really good time at the show, and made back my table fees. Definitely will try to attend next year, and try to stay for all three days (I had to leave Saturday night due to work on Monday). I hadn't attended a convention since Matsuricon back in August 2013.

One thing that occurred at the show that made me happy was the near selling out of my comic series Psychic Soldier Kai, and the general level of interest for creator-owned material. I've been working on the series for the better part of six years, and I'm almost finished with the 4th issue. I only had approximately 6 issues per installment, so I wasn't expecting to sell much in the first place. However, with the falling prices of printers, and the rapid "arms race"  of people putting out prints and mini-posters showcasing popular characters, I figured the best way to stay competitive was to offer something different at my table.

In the end, it was a fun show, and I'm eagerly anticipating my next con appearance, which will be Appleseed comic con on May 16th in Fort Wayne Indiana.

Wanted to do something a bit different, so I decided to draw a cool mythological creature. Didn't take me too long, and I absolutely love the result.

Magneto

A revision of the famous X-Men #1 cover by Jim Lee. It remains one of my favorite comic covers of all time. I had a lot of fun doing this one. Nothing beats the master of magnetism showing off his full power.

Legend of Korra

A fantastic sequel to the Avatar series. I hope it returns to television very soon. I loved the characters, the environments, and the storyline. Kudos to the creators. It's not easy creating a follow-up to a masterpiece.

Fantasy Cover

This was done for Alphetar Games. They wanted me to do a cover that was reminiscent of the Final Fantasy series, so I selected an eccentric group of characters. I think I largely succeeded, and I am generally happy how the image came out.

Loved this show as a kid. I was very happy that this image came out so well.

Matsuricon 2011

This was my second year attending MatsuriCon in Columbus, and it was a blast from start to finish. Not only were the costumes great, but the people who attended were fun and engaging. I participated in one panel during the show; Collaborating with writers and artists, which was a lot of fun to do, and hopefully informative to the audience. My sales were also strong, especially on Saturday. I spent so much time doing commissions that my neck almost got stuck in place.

MatsuriCon is run and staffed by a great group of people. I'm really looking forward to next year's show. Maybe I'll see you there. ;)

Independence Day

Its been a long time....

I should have been updating this site more often. Anyways, I've still been drawing of course. I attended a few art shows and conventions this year, and I've been pretty proud of my progress. I figured since so many places link here, I might as well continue to update.

Halo

Glad I was finally able to do a Halo pic. This was a commission done for a friend. Very happy how it came out too. I'll have more very soon.

Pirates!

Some people ask me what the heck I was thinking with this picture. Its really simple; This pic was for a contest on Digitalwebbing.com. Basically the goal was to show pirates finding the "X". I decided to do this pic for 2 reasons;

1. I wanted to do a color piece with a background.
2. I wanted to use an angle I don't usually get to utilize.

In the end I won the contest, and this remains a personal favorite of mine. :)

A lot of people also say that I didn't use shadows in this picture. I'm always surprised by this. There's a reason why the ground gets darker once you get passed the female pirate standing with the sword....

Ben 10

My nephews loved this picture, and I loved drawing it for them. There's something awesome about giving a kid a unique picture of his favorite character. Money, toys, etc. can't replace it. You're giving them something that only they have, and they really treasure it.

As for Ben 10, great show with a great concept. The main reason I was excited about doing this was because I knew the colors could really rock this picture and make it something special. I wasn't disappointed.
